As I wait for the release of Lace & Lead on November 1st, I had a plan. It was a small plan, but it's been growing steadily until I've decided it's time to put it in action.
Before I became published, I was fortunate to meet a number of inspiring people who were working toward their dreams of publication. They love the craft, work incredibly hard, and are talented beyond belief. Since I became published, I've met wonderful authors who also love their craft, work incredibly hard, and are talented beyond belief. And I wanted to take a moment to spotlight all of these people who've made my journey so much fun.
Romances are built on a number of factors, but there's no denying that the first line of a story can make or break the book. Most writers are also avid readers, and they recognize the importance of things like the first line.
That's why I'm collecting favorite first lines from romance novels; I'm getting both published and unpublished authors to participate, and you'll be able to see their favorite lines, as well as their explanation of why that line is so important, here on my blog during the first week of October.
Now, if you're reading this and are interested in participating, contact me and I'll send you more information so you can participate. And please share this with others so they can jump on board too. There's plenty of first lines out there for us all to share.
Sounds like a great opportunity.
